Advice Direct Scotland ‘s Safety and Sustainability campaign will take place between the 27th of October and 12th of November 2021.
The campaign aims to demonstrate the small changes and considerations Scottish consumers can make to help climate change, whilst saving money, and making our lives a little bit easier.
In 2019, it was estimated that at Halloween alone, An estimated 2,000 tonnes of plastic waste – the equivalent to 83m bottles was generated from throwaway Halloween clothing sold by leading retailers in the UK.
Additionally, in the same year, Scottish Fire and Rescue responded to 359 bonfires across Scotland on the 5th of November (Bonfire night).
In the lead up to COP26, we will be looking at the changes that we can all make, with a focus on safety and sustainability at Halloween, on Bonfire Night, and into the long-term to help respond to climate change.
